About Me

While in High School I was always known to my family as the "Cake Person".  I started off making small cakes for birthdays and other family events, till one day my dear cousin asked me to make her wedding cake...  With nerves of steal (or you would think one would have to have them to shoulder such a responsibility as a wedding cake!  I baked and decorated for days, reading books and doing research on what to do and what not to do!  From that one experience a dream was born (and a beautiful cake, I might add).

Many years later and still making cakes for my family and friends, I was approached by a friend of a friend who asked if I sell cakes and if I did she would buy!  So began the process of getting a license to legally sell baked goods out of my home.  With a little planning and a lot of work my wonderful husband built me a kitchen and here I am today!  Doing what I love, and using my God given artistic ability everyday!  I may not have the formal training or schooling like many others in my field, but what I do have is a love for confections and a drive to always make people happy.  Hence the name Happy Tiers Custom Cakes; cakes are for happy celebrations and its okay to have happy tears!  It’s not just cake to me…  It’s my own little piece of art!
